Justify Text in Microsoft Word or OpenOffice.
Microsoft Word and Open Office have differences in
justifying text.
Microsoft Word users change the horizontal justification
of the text by highlighting the text to change and
clicking the left, centre, or right alignment icons as
shown in the picture shown above.
To change the vertical justification of text follow the
steps listed below.
1. Open Microsoft Word
2. Click File and then Page Setup
3. Click the Layout tab
4. Under Vertical alignment click the down arrow
and select centre, bottom or the alignment required. If
this setting to affect the whole document change the
"Apply to" to selected text.
OpenOffice Writer
To change the horizontal justification of the text in
OpenOffice Writer click on the left, centre, or right icons
on the toolbar. These icons look similar to those in
Microsoft Word.
OpenOffice Writer does not have a feature like
Microsoft Word that allows users to easily vertically
justify text. However, this can still be done using
frames. To do this follow the steps listed below.
1. Open OpenOffice Writer
2. Click Insert
3. Click Frame
4. In the Frame window under Type, change the
horizontal and vertical position to centre and both to
"Entire page."
5. Because the frame will have borders, unless
you wish to keep these borders click the borders tab
and click None under Style.
6. Once this has been done you'll have a frame in
the centre of your page, which will allow you to enter
any text you wish and have it centred in the middle of
the page.
New Easier to Use Print Interface
The print dialogue has been completely revamped in
OpenOffice.org 3.3 to allow for a more efficient and
usable printing experience.
An integrated preview is available to show the
appearance of the document to be printed, and all
relevant settings can be made from within this one
dialogue, including number of pages, collation settings,
document objects to print or hide, page order, print
multiple pages, and much more.
More Options for Changing Case
With version 3.3, you have more options for changing
the case of a selected text portion. Apart from toggling
upper-case and lower-case, you can now set the case
to sentence case (first letter capitalised), capitalise
every word, or invert the current case.
